So just this morning I pulled from my Goddess Inspiration Oracle Guide deck and this month I will be studying a little with the Hindu Goddess Aditi.

In India, Aditi is honored as the creator of life. For it was Aditi who gave birth to the gods and goddesses, they, in turn, brought everything into consciousness, thus creating what we consider reality.

The benin goddess is addressed as Mother Space because she gave birth to the planets and stars. Some associate her with thre endless sky, appropriately, her name translates as "limitless".

Her children, known collectively as the Adityas, are connected with the twelve months of the year. They also symbolize the twelve signs of the zodiac, whom some believe control fate.

So I didn't realize how long its been since I've done a blog entry for my monthly Goddess. So here is last months Goddess Isamba. I felt a real connection with her even though I found it hard to find much information on her via the internet. So this info is from my Goddess Inspiration Oracle Guide.

Isamba, a goddess of the Issansu people of Tanzania, was considered the personification of the moon at night. She was married to the sun god.
When Isamba competed with her husband to discover which of them was the wisest, she accidentally became the creator of death. Since then, she has been associated with the cycle of life.

The moon, with its predictable cycles of waxing and waning, has long been associated with the cycle of life and death. Our Individual lives also go through cycles of waxing and waning, though they may mot be a clearly delineated as those of the moon. If we understand that what is empty will eventually become full again, it becomes easier to accept that all is as it should be in our lives.

Blessed Ostara

So I'm still having a slight case of writers block but I wanted to jump on here and wish everyone a very Blessed Ostara this year. I will try to remember to post some pics and try to do a lil blurb on our Sabbat this year. We will be celebrating Thursday with the family and Saturday with our coven. Sooooo excited cant wait. Persephone

So Octobers Goddess to study is Persephone. When I first pulled this card for this months Goddess I looked at it and thought to myself "Oh I know all about her" but still I carried on my studies of the different stories and beliefs of Persephone. All are basically the same but different names and locations for her and the story etc........

But what got me was the day I pulled her I sat in front of my laptop thinking I wanted to blog about certain Samhain/Halloween traditions I do. So I wanted to blog about what I do with the pomegranate. Then after I posted the blog I realized that pomegranate was a part of Persephone's story on why she has to stay in the underworld. So I just thought, "huh cool".

Next my hubby walks in the house from getting groceries and he turns to me and says " I got you some pomegranates. " And now I think whoa weird! Then I log into my Facebook and one of the pages I follow has the story on pomegranates posted along with three recipes for and how to use pomegranates in daily meals. So what are the odds? What does it mean?

PERSEPHONE-The Maiden/The Seasons, Sexuality, Innocence
Find ways to use your innocence as a strength.

Persephone, the treasured daughter of the harvest goddess Demeter, was honored by the ancient Greeks as the queen of the underworld. She is also acknowledged as the kore or maiden aspect of the triple goddess.

Persephone's transitional journey from maiden to queen of the underworld was instigated when Pluto, god of death, kidnapped her. The girl's heart was unmoved by the god's declarations of devotion. Instead, she wept for her mother and refused to eat. Finally, after some time had passed, Persephone tasted six seeds of the pomegranate  This act defined her sexuality and of Pluto as her husband. It also ensured her separation from her mother, Demeter, for a month for each seed. This myth was used by the ancient Greeks to explain the creation of spring and winter.

Chang O

So I recently purchased a new Goddess Oracle Deck by Kris Waldherr and in the deck of 80 cards I probably know 15-20 of the Goddess'. So I decided to learn as I pull from them. So here we go...........


SEPTEMBER
September's Goddess is Chang O "Queen of the Moon"

Around the world, the moon is associated with numerous objects. The fanciful believe it is made of cheese because of its pocked surface. Others claim to see the face of a man in the moon. In China, the moon is associated with a celestial white rabbit, who is said to reside there with the goddess Chang O in a palace built of fragrant cinnamon wood.

Every September (odd I pulled her for this month) when the full moon is at its most brilliant, the Chinese honor Chang O with a moon festival. This celebration also celebrates women and features family reunions. Besides gathering to admire the moon's luminescent brilliance, people bake special round treats called moon cakes, which are filled with delicious red bean paste. As people eat them, they are reminded of Chang O, queen of the moon.

Modern Goddess? Maybe....

In my many up's and down's in life there is many times I call upon the Goddess to help me out but I recently noticed that a lot of the time I get strength and power from a few well known females that in a way they might be considered modern Goddess.

I'm talking about music artists (even poet writers). I don't know about you but there are so many times in my life that when things aren't going so well that I just play that one song (or sometimes a few songs) that feels me with an feeling of empowerment. By listening to the lyrics of the songs knowing I'm not the only female who has felt a certain way or gone through a particular hard time in her life and hearing it from someone who is gorgeous, talented, and famous makes me feel even that much stronger. Knowing that all sisters of all walks of life have had to concur certain fears, crisis, hurts, etc. gives me comfort that I will too get over that certain event that feels so horrible at that particular moment.

Don't get me wrong I don't have a shrine or altar dedicated to these artists but I do see them as a type of Goddess that will help with their words (lyrics) when I need them.

So hey why not put in that fav CD of your music Goddess and honor them with a dance by helping you get over all the leaps and bounds a woman goes through in life.

Isis, Oh my Goddess.

So my whole life I always have heard Christians talking about how God/Jesus talked to them or showed them something.
Well I have the same thing except with my Goddess. This morning for some reason Isis kept calling to me. I figured it was because I honor her on Wednesday's and it was time to do my offerings but it was very early like around 6am. So I got up and did my norm for my morning dedication and such and right there in front of me was something she wanted to show me.
Lately I have had a gut feeling that my fiance' has not been happy and I have had the feeling that he has been up to something. Well early this morning he had to run an errand and forgot his cell phone on my Egyptian shrine. And there was a few messages from this woman he has been chatting with and trying to hook up with. Sadly it's someone I know and she's married with kids! Very sad as women I would think we should stick together and not betray another sister especially in the craft. But not the case. So sadly this will all come to surface and my 4 year relationship will end.
But so strange the Goddess nagged me to wake up while he was gone so she could show me this betrayal. I'm sad and hurt yes but feel loved that my Goddess is watching out for me.
So let's honor our patron Goddess for she keeps an eye out for all her children.

Pagan Creation Story

Okay here's our version maybe this way some people will stop asking me or maybe it will enlighten some, sheesh...........for everyone else please enjoy. 

Love and Light 

In the beginning, before people, before the creation of the Earth, there was the All. The All existed in knowing, stillness, silence and darkness. From this place of nothingness, the All drew upon itself and the Goddess exploded into being in an eruption of glittering silver light. Her essence is the totality of perfect love and perfect trust. In Her heart she held the spirit of the Divine, and there was no part of Her that was not of the Divine.

    Delighted, the Goddess began the Great Work. She danced among the heavens, Her bare feet beating out the rhythm of all creation. From this rhythm were created the stars and planets and She bid them to dance with Her. As they began to move, so the cycle of the year was born, and the divine symphony of the Universe came into form.

 

From Her pure, silver light came the colours of the Universe, giving all things vibrant beauty. From the bubbling laughter in Her throat come the sounds of the clear running water of the streams, the gentle lapping of the lakes and the roaring of the oceans. The essence of the Goddess is the Moon and the cycles of life, as all women have a cycle which is the bringer of life. She is the mountains and the oceans and the stars in the sky.

    When her dancing slowed, the Lady sought a companion to share the wonders of the Universe. As the All,  She created the God as Her soul mate and equal and brought Him into being with an explosion of dazzling golden light.

    Even though there were now two spirits, They were still one – They were two halves of the Whole. This Spirit watched with pride as life came into being on Earth, gradually becoming more complex and intelligent and eventually witnessing the evolution of humans. To each being our Lady gave a unique vibration with which to communicate and the Lord bestowed upon each one passion and the burning instinct to survive.

    As a gift for His magnificent handiwork and caring for the creatures of Earth, the Lady gave the Lord a crown of stag antlers, which He wears upon His great head. This appearance of half man, half animal would forever show His joy in both the human and animal creations of Spirit. The essence of the God is the Sun and the green, growing things - forests and fields, all things that grow under the Sun.
 

Much later after the creation of the Universe, when humans began to prosper, they forgot about their divine parents. Although the God and Goddess called to Their children, they did not hear. They were lost, fighting the demons they themselves had created. Not wishing to abandon Their children, the Lord and Lady made the decision to create healers and workers of harmony among the humans to remind them of the Divine source. Within each special soul would be the remembrance of the Great Work: love, creation and movement in harmony. So the Lord and Lady drew forth energy from the Realm of Angels and the Realm of Power Animals to make the essence of Their healers. Into the Realm of Humans They instilled these special souls to convey the divinity of Spirit. These beings of power were called Witches.

    The Goddess taught the Witches the wisdom of the Universe. They were instructed how to cast the Circle and how to communicate with Spirit, because the humans of Earth had forgotten. In each soul She implanted the ability to work Magick. The God taught the Witches how to connect with the elements and spirits of Air, Fire, Earth and Water and to commune with the animal and plant kingdoms.

    At first, the humans accepted the Witches and treated them fairly. But, because the Witches were different, the other humans began to fear the Wise Ones of the God and Goddess. And so the Witches became the Hidden Children, conducting their rites of positive energy in secret, so as not to risk capture and then punishment at the hands of their fearful brothers and sisters.

We are the Witches, the demonstration of the wisdom of the Lord and Lady. We are the power and we are the change - we are embodied in every race and every culture. Once a month, when the Moon is Full, the Witches celebrate the blessings the Goddess has bestowed upon us. Four times a year, as the Sun cycles through the seasons, we celebrate the Fire Festivals and honour the Lord and His love for us. At the four midpoints of the seasons the Witches honour the cycle of life and the gifts of the Earth. When thunder roars and lightning cracks, the Lord and Lady dance the divine steps of the Universal symphony so that we may remember them and know that we are never alone.

Blessing Ritual

So a few weeks ago two of my dearest friends did a blessing ritual for my two girls. I guess you could compare it to a wiccaning but it was a little different. 
My 15 year old wanted to do it because after years of looking into different religions mainly because of her grandparents and her father all being of different religions. She did try the christian thing with her dad and grandmother. Catholic with her grandfather and Jewish with her other grandmother and time after time kept coming back to me with more and more questions on paganism. So finally she felt that she was at a time where she knew what she wanted and felt old enough to decide on her own what she wanted and that was my religion of the old ways. 
My youngest is 4 and I never got around to doing any type of blessing for her. A close friend of mine did do a Navajo blessing on her when she was 2 but being that she is all mine and no other family to shove different religions down her throat or in her head I'm raising her how I want to and that is for her to be Pagan.
It was a lovely event. Very intimate with only the closest of friends in attendance. We had an awesome potluck afterwards and a nice fire pit going in the evening. You could feel all the love in the air it was so nice.
I'm so grateful to the Goddess for giving me such a loving family and friends to do this for us. Just wanted to let everyone know that no matter the age it is never too late to get the blessing or choose the religion you want or feel comfortable with.
